About

Forensic tools for the people who actually have to verify the video.

Who we are

VERI-fy is a small, focused project. It started as a forensic video tool for individual journalists and OSINT researchers, and it stays that way: we make a desktop app that gives a careful second opinion on the video on your screen.

We do not run a server. We do not collect telemetry. We do not run ads. We have opinions about how a verification tool should behave, and we try to make those opinions visible in the architecture, not in a marketing page.

The team is two people and the people they argue with. We will add more when the work needs more, not before.

What we believe

Four convictions, in order.

  1. Belief 01

    Privacy is an architecture problem.

Anything you write down can be subpoenaed. The only data we cannot leak is the data we never have.

  2. Belief 02

A confident wrong answer is worse than an honest unsure one.

VERI-fy has a verdict tier reserved for ‘we are not sure’ and uses it. Tools that always commit are tools that mislead.

  3. Belief 03

If you cannot publish your methodology, you cannot expect to be trusted.

The 10 metrics, the weights, the prompts, the gates: all of it is on the Methodology page. Always will be.

  4. Belief 04

Free for personal use is a value, not a marketing tactic.

VERI-fy Desktop will not become a paid product. Team and managed tiers will be a separate thing, never a paywall on Desktop.
